Yesterday's OOTD

Yesterday I had a dinner date with a friend of mine Elle Trowbridge we went to a greek restaurant, called the real Greek.

The real Greek was basically appetiser food but super delicious, I opted for halloumi, this was the second time I've ever had it but it was so nice, I also had their special recipe "Kalamari" in addition I  shared Elle's rice. Elle opted for salad, rice and grilled halloumi. We had the best time in central London gossiping and catching up.

I subsequently uploaded my ootd for Instagram and had a few request for a blog post explaining what I was wearing so here it is: this will be brief as it is only a OOTD and not a lot of thought went into it! Camel is as you might know my go to look.

DIY distressed Levi denim. (Two ways to wear denim)

Ever since I had a mini denim haul at my local thrift store, I've been dying to experiment with DIY  distressing my very own pair of denims and what better pair to mess up than classic Levi's. Luckily for me my experiment worked.

Diary. Reflection on shopping

You know the type of girl who believes she doesn't follow the crowd, says things like ''style is forever and fashion is temporary'', detest those who follow trends and is the master of her own world; then proceeds to shops every 70's look, invests in flare denim jeans despite her 5ft4 frame and lathers herself in suede because its a blogger must have-

Making a basic outfit look more cute.

I'm still pretty obsessed with these jeans, I've previously styled them on my making vintage thrifting look like guess jeans post but I wear them pretty much everyday so I'm bound to repeat look. (Oops I did it again.)

Body

I've been feeling like an old soul and now it's reflecting in my more demure approach to personal style.

Don't get me wrong bodycon can be interpreted in many ways but for me it brings an element of glamour to my day wear.

On this occasion I was catching up with old friends for dinner and thought I'd capture my look.

Spring must haves ft H&M and Topshop

This is the dawning of the age of the sa-an-dal.

As a self proclaimed recovering shopaholic I now think- or so I say- very carefully about my purchases, shoes do not fall under these thoughts, shoes can make or break an outfit- heck they can make or break your day.

From open toed sandals to gladiators, a pair is needed for every occcasion and it is a hard and daunting task to trawl through site after site trying to find the perfect pair.

When thinking about an everyday shoe I'd advise going for affordability over designer. I mean I love a pair of Gianvito Rossi but realistically we aren't all Kylie Jenners of the world *plus I hate to see a girl struggling in LB just for the sake of a red sole and some girl points. (Cher Horowitz voice: As if?!)

So heres a how-to on finding the perfect pair.

Forever 21
If you are living vicariously through the Kardashian/Jenner clan you'll need to head over to F21 right now to get your hands on any form of a camel sandal to pair with all the camel items you bought over the last few months.

Topshop
Topshop shoes hurt like hell. Full disclosure but they make such cute shoes you kinda ignore the pain and go on with your day to day activities. Right now they are mastering the art of gladiators and over the knee boots and with our unpredictable British weather these two cover all your needs for all seasons.

Matches fashion a la sale.
If you are prone to acquire designer shoes a good sale never hurt anyone. Matches fashion lays it out easy for you page after page of great designers with up to 50% off! Shop winter shoes in the summer and summer shoes in the winter and you'll be sure to get the best bargain. If you want to find about sales early, join their mailing list or follow their twitter. @matchesfashion

How to master layering

Thinklikekandie

When I walked into my local charity shop I wasn't looking for anything in particular although I had spent the night before endless searching for a pinstripe coat on Asos to no avail.
Pretty sure the cosmos was trying to reward me for all my over shopping this month and give me a break so when I found this coat at £7 I exhaled in glee.

How to master layering

Belting coats

I'm experimenting with silhouettes so adding a belt on top of a coat seems risqué but in a good. In this case more is more. This Asos belt is pretty thick and keeps my coat in place so I can breeze through the streets and trip less often in my extraordinarily long coat. £7 means I can never complain and I must wear it at least 100 times in the next few months. Deal.

Matching accessories

I've been reading who what wear to fill up my days with useful fashion content and I've been told matching accessories is a thing as the youthful say 'it's by force' so I paired my favourite sale scarf from Asos and my small blue H&M clutch therefor I hope I have now mastered matching accessories or I will never attempt it again.

To hat or not to hat?

As cool as it might seem adding a hat might be overkill for some outfits but when you're a diva extraordinaire this notion of overkill cannot phase you. Although as you can see my head is huge so I cannot add hats to my head, therefore feel free to do this vicariously for me.
